🔒 Your PDF never leaves your device. Conversion happens in your browser.
Convert a PDF into an editable Microsoft Word document (.docx) for free. The converter keeps your text, paragraphs and headings so you can edit the content in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice.
How to convert PDF to Word
- Click the box above and choose your PDF (or drag and drop it).
- Click Convert to Word.
- Your .docx file downloads automatically. Open it in Microsoft Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice and edit.
What gets converted?
This tool extracts the text of your PDF and rebuilds it as clean, editable paragraphs, with larger text turned into headings. It's ideal for reports, articles, assignments, letters and résumés where you need to reuse or edit the words.
Because the file is converted on your device rather than on a server, complex layouts (multi-column pages, tables, images and exact fonts) are simplified. If you need the PDF to look identical, use our PDF to JPG tool instead.
Scanned PDFs
If your PDF is a scan or photo of paper, it contains images rather than text, so there is nothing to extract. The tool will tell you when this happens. You'll need OCR (text recognition) software for those files. Microsoft Word can open some scanned PDFs directly (File > Open) and attempt the conversion itself.
