Memorable Password Generator - Free, Secure and Private

🔒 Generated on your device. Nothing is sent or stored.

Create strong passwords you can actually remember. This generator picks random words from the EFF short word list using your browser's cryptographic random number generator, the same approach security experts recommend for passphrases.

    Why memorable passwords (passphrases) work

A password like Tr0ub4dor&3 looks complex but follows patterns that cracking software knows well, and it's hard to remember. A passphrase made of several truly random words, such as Acorn-Tulip-Gravy-Swirl, is both easier to remember and harder to guess. Security comes from randomness and length, not from swapping letters for numbers.

How strong is a generated password?

Each word is chosen from 1,296 options, adding about 10.3 bits of randomness. Four words give roughly 41 bits; adding a random number and symbol pushes it further. For important accounts (email, banking, password manager), use 5 or more words. The strength meter above shows the estimated entropy for your current settings.

Tips for using your new password

    • Use a different password for every account. Reused passwords are the main way accounts get taken over after a data breach.
    • Store passwords in a reputable password manager and protect it with your longest passphrase.
    • Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) or passkeys wherever possible.
    • Never share passwords or OTPs over phone, SMS or WhatsApp. Banks and companies will never ask for them.

    FAQ

    Is this password generator safe?

Yes. Passwords are generated entirely in your browser using crypto.getRandomValues. They are never sent to our server or stored anywhere. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it will keep working.

How many words should I use?

Four words with a number and symbol are fine for everyday accounts. Use five to six words for email, banking and your password manager's master password.
